LEC 2026 Versus Format and Schedule Announced

Time: 2025-12-16 17:00 (UTC)

Riot Games has unveiled the format and key dates for the new LEC 2026 Versus tournament, which will replace the LEC winter split and kick off the European League of Legends season.

The competition will begin on January 17, 2026, marking the first official event of the year for the region's teams.

The regular stage of LEC Versus will follow a single round robin format. Matches will be held three times a week—on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays—with each game day featuring six bo1 format matches. At the end of the round robin stage, the top eight teams will advance to the playoffs, where the battle for the title will continue in a double-elimination bracket. The first-round series will be played to two wins (bo3), while all subsequent matches, including the grand final, will be played in a bo5 format.

The organizers have also released a preliminary schedule for the tournament's opening day. The debut weekend will feature  Los Ratones  facing off against  Fnatic , with one of the evening's highlights being the clash between  Karmine Corp Blue and the main  Karmine Corp  team.

The tournament will feature 12 teams: ten permanent LEC participants— Fnatic G2 Esports Team Heretics Movistar KOI GIANTX SK Gaming , Karmine Corp Team Vitality , new teams including  Natus Vincere  and Shifters, as well as two invited teams from ERL— Los Ratones and Karmine Corp Blue.

LEC 2026 Versus will take place from January 17 to March 1, 2026, in Berlin at the Riot Games Arena in an offline format. The tournament features 12 teams competing for a slot at First Stand 2026.
