G2 Esports has officially announced the departure of Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski from the active roster of Counter-Strike 2. The decision was expected given the team's decline in results in 2025 and plans for a major restructuring.

Snax's best moments with G2
Snax joined G2 in July 2024 from GamerLegion , filling an important role as in-game leader in the revamped lineup. His transfer was an instant success, with the team winning two S-tier tournaments in a row:

BLAST Fall Final 2024 — victory over NAVI (3:1)
BLAST World Final 2024 — domination in the final over Team Spirit (3:0)
These victories were G2's first major titles in over a year. Snax quickly integrated into the team, creating a reliable structure within the server that allowed other players — huNter-, malbsMd , and HeavyGod — to shine.

“Snax is the kind of player that brings instant structure. His knowledge and composure helped us win when it mattered most,” said G2 representatives after the BLAST World Final.

What went wrong in 2025?
Despite high expectations, G2 was unable to maintain last year's level in 2025. The team failed to advance from the group stage at three consecutive major events:

PGL Astana 2025 — 0:2 against NIP
IEM Dallas 2025 — 1:2 defeat against GamerLegion
BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 — 0:2 loss to The MongolZ
G2 also lost the PGL Bucharest 2025 final 0:3 to Team Falcons , confirming their weak leadership in key series. This forced management to consider personnel changes.

Instead of Snax — a new captain and young talent
It is already known that Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač will take on the role of in-game leader. This means that G2 will move to a more flexible style, abandoning the classic model with a separate IGL.

G2 is also actively negotiating with Fnatic regarding the transfer of Matúš “⁠MATYS⁠” Šimko. According to reports, the 20-year-old Slovakian is already finalizing the details of the transfer. At Fnatic , he has proven himself to be a stable rifler with a rating of 6.3, but without much lan experience.
