Most Cheats Disabled After CS2 Update on July 29

Time: 2025-07-31 09:09 (UTC)

After the recent major update in Counter-Strike 2, users have begun noticing a significant decrease in the number of cheaters, especially in premier mode matches at higher ranks. This situation was reported by the X-account Vaccoin, which specializes in tracking cheaters and Valve's anti-cheat situation.

Although nothing related to the anti-cheat was officially changed in the July 29 update, most cheats indeed stopped working. This may be due to non-obvious technical changes in the client or server side that disrupted compatibility with cheat software. Essentially, this is a side effect of the patch rather than a deliberate measure by Valve. As a result, matches at higher ranks have become noticeably "cleaner."

The temporary disappearance of cheaters is not a victory, but rather a respite. While matchmaking has become more comfortable, the fundamental problem remains. If Valve does not take active steps to modernize VAC and implement new protective mechanisms, the situation will quickly return to its previous state.
