Team Liquid faces another unexpected defeat, this time during the RES Showdown Fall 2025 qualifiers. In the quarterfinals, Liquid lost to VP.Prodigy — the academy roster of Virtus.pro — with a score of 1:2, finishing at the bottom of the tournament.

Liquid managed to take only one map, Mirage (13:2), but were crushed on Dust2 (7:13) and lost the decisive Nuke with a score of 14:16.

The standout player of the series was Vladimir "b1st" Krasikov, who secured 55 kills with 37 deaths and an ADR of 80, achieving a rating of 7.0. The best player for Liquid was Keith "NAF" Markovic, ending the match with 55 kills and 37 deaths, and a rating of 7.0. 

This loss means that Liquid will not qualify for BLAST Open Fall 2025 — one of the few remaining opportunities to prove themselves on the international stage before the season ends. Meanwhile, VP.Prodigy , thanks to this victory, continues to fight for a spot in the tournament.

Amidst another qualification exit for Liquid, questions about the team's lineup resurface with renewed intensity. Despite management's statements of confidence in the current roster, the results continue to disappoint. Especially since the entire Liquid lineup finished the series with a negative K/D, except for one player.

RES Showdown Fall 2025 takes place from August 1 to 3, where the first-place team will earn a spot at BLAST Open Fall 2025.
