headtr1ck after loss to PARIVISION : "We lost a crucial round at 13-13 and it was very important"

Time: 2025-09-18 16:30 (UTC)

Daniil "headtr1ck" Valitov admitted frustration after  B8 ’s opening defeat to  PARIVISION  at StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025.

The AWPer reflected on another narrow loss in overtime, the team’s lack of officials in recent months, and how the VRS system is adding pressure on his squad. The comments came in an interview.

After losing Train in overtime, headtr1ck felt the result could have shifted the entire series had they closed it out.

Mixed feelings. Obviously sad because I felt that we could have won Train, and it could have been all different in terms of our confidence on the second map.

He pointed to one decisive round and a lack of cohesion on T side as key reasons for the defeat.

I think we lost a crucial round at 13-13 and it was very important, and also I think on T side we didn't have good connections between calls, which was also important. Overall I felt that we could have played much more confidently.

The AWPer acknowledged that confidence has been hard to come by, with the team’s schedule offering far fewer chances to play.

I feel that when, for example in the first season, we play a lot of officials, we feel way more confident. You can have a lot more understanding that you have a lot of chances to show yourself. It's sad for us, I think it's pretty important to have this.

For headtr1ck, individual form is closely tied to having more officials.

You feel better individually when you have more officials to play.

The new VRS system, which rewards lan results heavily, has put added pressure on B8 , especially after their string of narrow defeats.

I think at the back of the mind, yeah, because you know that you can gain a lot of points at the lan events, and when you lose you kinda don't have a lot to play. It just feels bad to not have a lot of chances to show yourself, but as I said, we had some close games and it's only ourselves to blame I would say. We really had chances on previous LANs and in this game. I'm just feeling sad that this happens over and over again at lan events, but at some point I think it should stop.

Daniil "headtr1ck" Valitov

Asked about Major qualification, he admitted uncertainty but stressed the importance of the coming events.

I don't know right now, these next two lan events will be the most important. I don't try to think about it too much recently, I just try to play, but of course with this new system you just need to feel a bit different than before.

Finally, he reflected on his individual form, conceding that he has underperformed in recent matches but sees it as a mental hurdle to overcome.

In some games it was very sad obviously because yeah, I feel that I've been kinda underperforming recently and I'll try to step up. I think it also comes with less officials because I individually feel more confident when I have more chances. It's a mental part that I need to fix, but as I said, overall our team game right now is not at the point that it was before, where we could beat great opponents and feel great individually.
