Eight New Neutral Items Added to Dota 2

Time: 2025-05-23 09:31 (UTC)

With the release of the 7.39 patch, Dota 2 has undergone a significant shakeup to its neutral item pool. A total of eight new items have been introduced, while several legacy items have either been removed or reintroduced. Here's a breakdown of all the changes.

Removed Neutral Items
Valve has pruned the item roster, removing a mix of old favorites and underused relics:

Orb of Destruction
Pig Pole
Trusty Shovel
Gossamer Cape
Iron Talon
Nemesis Curse
Ninja Gear
Ceremonial Robe
Mind Breaker
Ogre Seal Totem
Magic Lamp
Pirate Hat

These removals are expected to shift both early- and late-game itemization strategies, especially for heroes that relied heavily on utility or burst provided by items like Mind Breaker and Magic Lamp.

Returning Neutral Items
In a nostalgic twist, several fan-favorite neutral items have been brought back into the fold:

Chipped Vest: A solid sustain tool that returns damage to attackers.
Poor Man's Shield: A classic comeback for agility heroes.
Psychic Headband: Boosts mana and provides spell-casting reach.
Helm of the Undying: Ensures survival at critical moments.
These returning tools will reintroduce old mechanics into the current meta, offering new potential for classic strategies.

New Neutral Items Overview
Eight brand-new neutral items have made their debut, offering fresh mechanics and strategic depth:

Tier 1 Items
Dormant Curio: Increases potency of crafted neutral artifacts by 30%.
Kobold Cup: Grants AoE movement speed to allies (active, 6s duration).
Sister's Shroud: Grants 200% evasion under 50% HP; evasion decays on dodge.

Tier 3 Item
Jidi Pollen Bag: Applies AoE DoT and healing reduction based on enemy max HP.

Tier 4 Items
Dezun Bloodrite: Spells gain 15% larger AoE but cost HP equal to 35% of mana cost.
Giant's Maul: Empowers next attack with critical damage, slowing target's movement, attack, and cast speed.
Outworld Staff: Temporarily removes the user from the world, disables them, then returns with 5% HP damage.

Tier 5 Item
Divine Regalia: Boosts outgoing damage by 20%, but is permanently lost on death.

These additions range from high-risk, high-reward mechanics (like Dezun Bloodrite and Divine Regalia) to creative mobility and utility options that could shift both pub and pro play dynamics.
