With the release of patch 7.39 in Dota 2, there have been noticeable shifts in the public game meta. ESL analysts published statistics on their X account, showcasing which heroes benefited the most and which suffered due to the changes in the new game version.

According to ESL data, Omniknight emerged as one of the patch's main winners: his win rate increased from 47.2% to 51.0%. Even more impressive rises were seen with Pugna (from 48.8% to 52.5%) and Broodmother (from 48.9% to 52.1%). These heroes received significant buffs and are now performing excellently in pubs.

Lina also pleasantly surprised, with her win rate climbing from 44.5% to 47.9%—a result that, while not exceptional, indicates the hero's gradual return to form.

Conversely, several popular heroes experienced significant declines. Sand King suffered the most, with his win rate plummeting from 49.6% to a critical 39.9%. Similarly negative trends are observed in Morphling (from 51.9% to 45.0%) and Spirit Breaker (from 52.0% to 46.9%).

Even Medusa, who was recently considered a stable pick hero, lost some of her strength—her win rate decreased from 52.7% to 48.1%.

Update 7.39 has significantly reshuffled the balance of power in pubs. The changes affected both the leaders of the previous patch and the underdogs, who can now claim a key role in the new meta. Players should reassess their hero pool—the ESL statistics clearly show who is currently dominating and who might be better left on the bench.
