In June 2025, the closed qualifiers for the Esports World Cup 2025 for Dota 2 began. Teams from six regions are competing for spots in the main summer tournament, which will take place from July 7 to July 19 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia . Each region has been allocated only one slot for the championship.
Western Europe
NAVI Junior emerged victorious in the qualifiers, first defeating MOUZ 2:0 in the lower bracket final, and then beating AVULUS 3:1 in the grand final. The team confidently navigated through the losers' bracket, leaving no chances for their opponents in the decisive matches.
North America
Wildcard easily defeated Yoru Ryodan 2:0 to make it to the final of the qualifying stage. However, they lost in the decisive match to Shopify Rebellion 0:3. With this confident victory, Shopify Rebellion secured a spot in the Esports World Cup.
Middle East, South Asia, and Africa
The qualifying stage kicks off on June 8. In the first round of the upper bracket, Nigma Galaxy will face sifr00 , and Virtus.Pro will go up against Team Secret . The winners will continue to fight for the sole spot to Riyadh.
Southeast Asia
Matches will take place from June 8 to June 10. Among the first-round pairs are BOOM Esports against Kukuys , Yangon Galacticos facing Tech Free Gaming , Castawake playing against Execration , and Ivory taking on InterActive Philippines .
Eastern Europe
The qualifying stage is scheduled for June 11–13. In the first round, Natus Vincere will meet ESpoiled , Runa Team will face One Move , TEAM NEXT LEVEL will play against 4Pirates , and L1ga Team will compete with Cyber Goose.
South America
Regional qualifiers also start on June 11. In the initial matches, Team Den will compete with Estar Backs , Edge will face Veritas Brothers , and OG.LATAM will play against Team Sin Compromiso . In the semifinals, Heroic is already awaiting the winner of the Den/Estar match.
