In the playoffs of the Esports World Cup 2025, G2 Esports took revenge on Bilibili Gaming , eliminating the Chinese team with a score of 2:1 and advancing to the tournament's semifinals. This defeat marked a painful end to the two-year international rivalry between the teams. Bilibili Gaming player Zhao " Elk " Jiahao, in a post-match interview, attempted to explain the reasons for their failure and thanked fans for their support.

This is interesting because Bilibili and G2 have been facing off in major tournaments for years, with the Chinese team previously coming out on top — for example, in the upper bracket final of the Play-In at the MSI 2025, where Bilibili Gaming confidently won 3:0.
