Riot Games Tests New Last-Hit Assistance System for Minions

Time: 2025-08-28 14:40 (UTC)

Soon, a new tool for beginners and casual players might be introduced in League of Legends. A feature called Last Hit Assistance has been discovered on the test servers and will be available exclusively in non-ranked queues.

How It Works
The system displays a special indicator on a minion's health bar, showing the damage threshold for auto-attacks and items. This will help players better understand the timing for the last hit and more effectively farm gold in the lane.

Importantly, the assistance only considers some effects of champions and items that influence basic attacks. Abilities, critical hits, and certain types of damage (such as those considering minion resistances) are not included in the system.

What Is Included
Currently, the list of factors includes abilities and passive effects of the following champions:

Ashe, Caitlyn, Corki, Ekko, Elise (in spider form), Gwen, Janna, Jinx, Kai’Sa, Kassadin, Kayle, Mordekaiser, Orianna, Rell, Tahm Kench, Teemo, Thresh, Varus, Warwick, Zeri.

The system also integrates items: Doran’s Ring, Doran’s Shield, Blade of the Ruined King, Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Nashor’s Tooth, Recurve Bow, Tear of the Goddess, Terminus, and Wit's End.

When It Will Be Available
Riot has confirmed that Last Hit Assistance will be included in one of the upcoming PBE updates. However, the feature will not appear in the next patch—it will first spend some time on the test server. Only later is it planned to be released alongside the WASD control system, which is also being prepared for integration.

The "last hit" mechanic is one of the key skills in League of Legends, and mastering it traditionally poses challenges for new players. Introducing Last Hit Assistance will help lower the entry barrier to the game, making it more accessible. Meanwhile, developers have kept the feature out of ranked matches to preserve competitive balance.

Riot Games continues to seek ways to make League of Legends more comfortable for new players. If the experiment proves successful, Last Hit Assistance could become another important feature for learning and practice in regular games.
