Isurus Leaves CBLOL Ahead of 2026 Season

Time: 2025-12-06 00:00 (UTC)

Isurus  and Riot Games have announced the end of their partnership: the Argentine club is leaving CBLOL and vacating a guest slot for the next season.

Riot thanked the organization for its participation and confirmed that the league spot will be filled by a new team from South America's second division.

Isurus spent one season in CBLOL, becoming the only non-Brazilian participant in the championship. According to the club, the guest status did not provide equal conditions with partner organizations and limited opportunities for long-term planning. The statement mentions that the team is returning to Latin America to focus on developing the local scene and strengthening ties with the regional community.

Riot selects a new participant

The CEO of Isurus noted that the decision is related to the conclusion of the unified model of American leagues and the return of CBLOL and LCS as separate structures. He emphasized that the current system does not provide stability, does not allow for the development of academies, and hinders long-term growth due to the lack of synchronization of key dates—from transfer windows to playoffs and qualifications.

Now Riot must determine who will take the vacant spot in CBLOL. The situation is complicated by the instability of South America's second division—the number of clubs ready to meet the requirements has decreased. Among the possible contenders are Alpha7, KaBuM! Ilha das Lendas, and  Los Grandes . The latter recently merged with MIBR and now form a unified structure.
