Uzi Announces Plans to Host and Compete in His Own Tournament — the UZI CUP

League of Legends legend Jian "Uzi" Zihao has revealed plans to organize a brand new invitational tournament called the UZI CUP, set to take place following the conclusion of LPL 2026 Split 1. The news was confirmed by LPL Insider, with Uzi himself set to compete as one of the participants in the event he is funding.

Uzi broke the news during a recent livestream, giving fans their first glimpse at what he has in mind for the tournament. In his own words:

"After the first split ends, I'll host the Uzi Cup. Everyone is welcome to sign up. I'll pay out of my own pocket. The prize pool will be quite large, and there won't be many teams. If I can win the prize myself, that would be great, but I'm worried that very strong teams might register."

Further details regarding the format, team selection process, and prize pool breakdown are expected to be announced at a later date, according to Uzi.

The announcement has generated significant buzz within the community, given Uzi's legendary status in the game. Widely regarded as one of the greatest AD carries in League of Legends history, he built his reputation during a storied career with Royal Never Give Up , claiming multiple LPL titles along the way. In recent years he has shifted his focus toward streaming, though he has remained a familiar and beloved presence within the competitive ecosystem.
