gla1ve Retires as Player and Becomes Coach

The legendary Counter-Strike captain, Lukas ' gla1ve ' Rossander, has announced his retirement from playing and his transition to the role of head coach.

In his farewell post on social media, he emphasized that after a period of reflection and a break from the server, it was a natural step for him to begin a new chapter as a coach. 

History and Contribution of gla1ve

Lukas ' gla1ve ' Rossander began his professional career in 2010, but true success came with  Astralis , where he became the captain and a key figure in creating the Danish team's "golden era." From 2016 to 2023, gla1ve , alongside Astralis , won four majors, including the StarLadder Berlin Major 2019, IEM Katowice Major 2019, FACEIT Major: London 2018, and ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017.

After leaving Astralis , gla1ve played for  ENCE , where he also proved himself as an experienced captain and leader. Throughout his professional career, he earned $1,643,862.

Transition Details and New Challenges

gla1ve officially left ENCE at the end of July 2025, becoming a free agent on January 1, 2026. In his post, he noted that the decision to retire was made jointly with the organization, and he is now ready for new challenges. As a coach, gla1ve plans to leverage his deep experience, understanding of the meta, and ability to work with players' individual traits. 

He emphasized that his approach is to see each player as a unique individual rather than trying to fit everyone into one scheme. This could be a key factor for the success of the team he will lead.
