The closed qualifiers for The International 2025 began on June 4th in South America and Eastern Europe. Qualifiers in other regions will start later. Teams are competing for eight spots in the year's main tournament. Below are the current qualification results by region.
South America
In the upper bracket, Edge defeated Heroic with a score of 2:1, while Team Sin Compromiso left no chance for AllStars — 2:0. These teams will meet in the upper bracket final to determine the first finalist of the qualifiers. In the lower bracket, OG .LATAM confidently defeated Infamous , and AllStars were eliminated from the tournament after losing to Team Sin. In the next round of the lower bracket, Heroic will face OG .LATAM.
Eastern Europe
In the upper bracket, Aurora Gaming confidently defeated One Move with a score of 2:0, while Natus Vincere overcame L1ga Team — 2:1. These teams will meet in the upper bracket final to determine the first participant of the grand final of the qualifiers. In the lower bracket, Nemiga Gaming and Cyber Goose eliminated Quantum and Runa Team respectively. In the next round, Nemiga will play against L1ga Team , and Cyber Goose will face One Move .
In the lower bracket, Cyber Goose continued their winning streak by eliminating Nemiga Gaming with a score of 2:0, and also confidently dealt with One Move — 2:0. Nemiga Gaming earlier managed to defeat L1ga Team — 2:0. In the upper bracket, Aurora Gaming won a tense battle against Natus Vincere with a score of 2:1 and became the first participant in the grand final of the qualifiers.
Southeast Asia
The qualification will begin on June 13th with first-round matches between InterActive Philippines and Kopite , as well as Team Nemeton and Tech Free Gaming . The winners of these matches will advance to the quarterfinals, where they will face Trailer PB , Ivory , Talon Esports , Castawake , Execration , and BOOM Esports .
Western Europe
The qualification starts on June 13th with four first-round matches in the upper bracket. The tournament will open with NAVI Junior and Yellow Submarine — the winner of this pair will meet Nigma Galaxy in the next stage. Then Virtus.Pro will play against 4Pirates , and their winner will continue to face AVULUS. In the evening, two quarterfinals will also take place: MOUZ will play against 1win Team , and OG will face Team Secret .
North America
Wildcard confirmed their status as the strongest team in this qualification. In the grand final, they faced Shopify Rebellion — the tournament favorites whom they had already defeated before. A 3:2 victory secured them first place and a ticket to the main part of the tournament.
Shopify Rebellion , after an unexpected loss in the upper bracket final, quickly recovered. In the lower bracket final, they left no chance for BSJ and friends, confidently winning with a score of 2:0.
China
Yakult's Brothers, despite losing in the upper bracket final, quickly bounced back. In the lower bracket, they faced Tearlaments again and emerged victorious once more — this time with a score of 2:1, allowing them to reach the grand final. However, they couldn't stop Xtreme Gaming .
Xtreme Gaming easily confirmed their status as the favorite of the qualifiers. In the grand final, the team faced Yakult's Brothers again and left them no chance, finishing the series with a score of 3:0. Thus, Xtreme Gaming secured a confident victory in the tournament and advanced to the next stage.
The closed qualifiers for The International 2025 are taking place in June across all six regions and will serve as the final stage of selection for the year's main tournament. Each region features invited teams and those that advanced through the open stages. The qualifiers will allocate eight slots: two for Western Europe and Southeast Asia, and one each for Eastern Europe, China , North America, and South America.
