OG withheld Dota 2 prize money from players for ESL One Birmingham and EWC 2024

Time: 2025-07-17 14:30 (UTC)

The European esports organization OG found itself at the center of a scandal: the club failed to pay prize money to its former Dota 2 players for their performances at ESL One Birmingham 2024 ($85,000) and Esports World Cup 2024 ($100,000), despite the funds already being received by the organization.

OG has frozen prize payments until the end of 2025
According to rdy.gg, several sources close to the situation confirmed that players repeatedly requested payments through official OG channels in 2024 and 2025, but either received no response or vague explanations. The club's new CEO, Daniel Sanders, initially promised to resolve the situation within 60–90 days but later stated that all payments would be frozen at least until the last quarter of 2025.

Sources also report that OG faced cash flow issues, and some of the prize money may have been redirected for organizational needs. In one of the responses to players, it was claimed that the club is "in the process of attracting investments" and intends to settle debts after this phase is completed, but no specific timelines were provided.

Lack of response from N0tail and Ceb
In addition to financial claims, OG faces accusations of nepotism. According to official data, the club's COO is Silje Sundstein, sister of Johan " N0tail " Sundstein, and their father, Eivind Sundstein, has been appointed as chairman of the board. The CEO of OG , Daniel Sanders, is in a relationship with Silje.

Former players claim that OG co-founders, N0tail and Ceb , are practically uninvolved in the club's activities and ignore inquiries. One source mentioned that N0tail does not even accept Discord requests from former players, and Ceb has also completely dropped out of communication. Some players were still residing at the OG Sunflower House in Lisbon but had no means to contact the club owners.

The company has chosen a disgraceful path—using young players and ignoring its obligations. It's just a farce.

Requests for comments from N0tail , Ceb , and Daniel Sanders were sent by journalists on July 10, 2025, but no response had been received at the time of publication.
