N0tail Returns to OG

Time: 2025-05-06 15:20 (UTC)

The organization OG is embarking on a new chapter in its history: Johan "N0tail" Sundstein has become the head coach and leader of the Dota 2 project. The two-time The International champion returns to build a team from scratch and lead OG back to the top.

According to N0tail, his goal is to create a roster with strong communication and strategic thinking, a team that not only plays at a high level but truly understands the game and can discuss it.

We are starting anew, with a new project. I will lead it as a coach and build everything from scratch. The roster is almost complete, not fully yet, but we're close. Everything is moving in the right direction.

I want to build a team based on communication, the ability to talk about the game, discuss strategies, while maintaining a high level of execution. I want us to be able to reason about Dota without always testing everything manually. It's challenging, and I rarely achieved this in the past. But this is what I strive for—strong communication, the ability to express thoughts, and, of course, a high level of talent. We hope to make it to TI and secure a top position.

N0tail is one of the most recognizable figures in the history of professional Dota 2. He won The International twice in a row with OG (in 2018 and 2019), remaining the captain and one of the key visionary leaders of the team. Under his leadership, OG became a symbol of an unconventional approach to drafts and team play, changing the perception of how to win at the highest level.

Before N0tail's return, OG was coached by Maurice "KheZu" Gutmann. Under his leadership, the team showed modest results: 15th–16th place at PGL Wallachia Season 3, 9th–10th at BLAST Slam I, and 5th at FISSURE Special. The best result during KheZu's tenure was a third-fourth place finish at the RES Regional Champions in October 2024.

Currently, OG is represented by only one active roster—in South America. The team includes players K1 , Darkmago , ILICH, Elmisho , and MoOz . More details about the roster can be found in a separate news article via online.
