Major ARAM Update

Time: 2025-06-09 15:32 (UTC)

Riot Games has announced significant changes to the ARAM mode in League of Legends—players can now expect three different maps, unique mechanics, and a new champion selection system.

In the second part of the season, developers will add three maps to ARAM, which players will be randomly assigned to after selecting champions. This is meant to diversify the familiar format without altering its essence. The maps include:

Spirit Blossom ARAM — visually inspired by the Spirit Blossom event, with hex gates replaced by portals. Some of these are located in the center of the map and allow for aggressive moves or clever maneuvers.
Butcher's Bridge — the return of a legendary map. It will feature power flowers—objects that reduce cooldowns and provide a ShielD but do not restore health. Cannons have also been added, launching players into battle and capable of knocking enemies over upon landing. The firing range depends on the furthest intact tower of the team.
As always — Howling Abyss remains unchanged. Riot emphasizes the importance of preserving the classic ARAM experience for fans.

New Champion Selection System
One of the most anticipated changes is the removal of the reroll system. Now, players will be given champion cards:

At the start, a choice of two champions is presented, with one being placed on the "bench."
Thus, there will be at least 10 champions to choose from in the lobby, and sometimes up to 15 if cards with three options appear.
Riot has moved away from the constant selection of three champions to avoid the repetition of strong heroes like Nidalee, Xerath, or Ziggs.

The developers emphasize that these innovations are still experimental. They will gather feedback from players to determine whether the new maps and mechanics will become a permanent part of ARAM.
