Bilibili Gaming secured an additional spot for China at the Worlds 2025 championship. After defeating Movistar KOI in the upper bracket and FlyQuest in the second round of the lower bracket, the Chinese team propelled the LPL to the top 2 regions at the MSI, which automatically grants the region a fourth slot at Worlds — in the Play-In stage.
How the Worlds 2025 Format Has Changed
This year, the World Championship will be hosted by China , with matches taking place in Beijing, Shanghai , and Chengdu. The format has been revamped: now only two teams will play in the Play-In to compete for the final, 17th spot in the main stage. This will be a best-of-5 series between representatives of the two strongest MSI regions, excluding the champion.
The upcoming MSI 2025 matches will take place in the decisive playoff stages: in the upper bracket, Generation Gaming will face T1 for a spot in the grand final, while in the lower bracket, Bilibili Gaming will meet Anyone’s Legend. A victory for BLG will allow them to advance to the lower bracket final and maintain their chance at the title, while Generation Gaming and T1 have already secured LCK at least a second-place finish in the tournament.
