Time: 2025-08-06 07:00 (UTC)

The reigning world champions and favorites of the Chinese scene, EDward Gaming , announced changes to their Valorant roster today. As it became known, Hsieh “S1Mon” Meng-hsun, with whom there had been certain issues in the past, has finally left the team.

Career at EDward Gaming
Hsieh “S1Mon” Meng-hsun joined the team in June 2024. He immediately proved himself in the main lineup and helped the team win VCT 2024: China Stage 2, which paved their way to the world championship. But the club did not stop there, and the updated lineup, together with S1Mon, unexpectedly won VALORANT Champions 2024, becoming the first representative of their region to win this title.

After that, the team held several more events in the offseason and took 3rd place at VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025 in the following season.

Disputes with the team
But S1Mon's stay with the team was not without problems. After the first two weeks of the VCT 2025: China Stage 1 tournament, EDward Gaming announced the replacement of s1mon with Jieni7 , after which some details of this decision became known online. According to other team members, S1Mon had become very lazy and completely isolated himself from the other players. He showed no initiative in training and was unwilling to learn new agents. At the same time, S1Mon was transferred to the bench, and his place was taken by the aforementioned Jieni7 .

Farewell to the player
After four months of inactivity, today, representatives of EDward Gaming announced that they are officially saying goodbye to Hsieh “S1Mon” Meng-hsun. A video appeared on the team's social media showing the player's achievements and his best moments, ending with a moment of triumph as he lifts the cup at VALORANT Champions 2024.

S1Mon himself and other players from the main roster have not yet commented on this decision. Therefore, it is unknown whether the player plans to immediately start looking for a new team or will continue his break from competition.
