EDward Gaming and TEC have secured the final two spots from the China region for the Esports World Cup 2025 in VALORANT. Their qualification was confirmed after victories in the semifinals of the VALORANT China Evolution Series Act 2, where they defeated Trace Esports and Wolves Esports respectively.
EDward Gaming vs. Trace Esports
EDward Gaming 's victory over Trace Esports wasn’t as easy as the 2:0 scoreline suggests. Despite the sweep, Trace managed to put up a strong fight on both maps, forcing EDG to work hard on Lotus and Pearl, each ending 14:12. This win secured EDward Gaming a place in the tournament final and a slot at EWC 2025. Meanwhile, Trace Esports will face Wolves Esports on May 11 in the third-place match.
TEC vs. Wolves Esports
In the second semifinal of VALORANT China Evolution Series Act 2, TEC defeated the China Stage 1 bronze medalists Wolves Esports with a 2:1 scoreline (Haven 14:12, Split 7:13, Lotus 13:8). With this win, TEC claimed the last EWC 2025 slot from the Chinese region and advanced to the tournament final.
VALORANT China Evolution Series Act 2 is taking place from May 8 to 12 in Shanghai at the VCT CN Arena. Twelve partnered teams from the China region are competing for two invitations to the Esports World Cup 2025, along with EVO Points necessary for progression during the regular season.
