Time: 2025-07-09 17:42 (UTC)

Leviatán esports has officially announced that Casper "Desmo" Rasmussen has been promoted to the role of head coach. The move was confirmed on July 8, 2025, following his temporary leadership during Tixinha & Sacy Invitational. Information about the promotion appeared on the organization's official page in X. Previously, the head coach position was held by Dimitar “itopata” Staev, who departed from the organization on June 27.

itopata’s legacy with Leviatán
During his tenure starting in October 2023, itopata played a key role in elevating the Leviatán team to international relevance. Under his guidance, the team secured a 3rd place finish at VALORANT Champions 2024, won VCT 2024: Americas Stage 2, and placed Top 10 at Masters Shanghai 2024. Additionally, Desmo stepped in as interim head coach during the Tixinha & Sacy Invitational 2025, leading the team to a 3–2 victory over KRÜ Esports in the grand final.

His exit comes amidst broader structural changes within the team, suggesting a new era is underway. While itopata has already found a new home at FOKUS , Leviatán is moving forward with internal talent.

Desmo’s rise to the top
Desmo, who previously served as an assistant coach since December 2024, now steps up as the official head coach of the team. He has a diverse coaching background, having worked with Alliance , Bonk , Alliance Coven, and Apeks . Known for his analytical mindset and calm leadership, Desmo has already demonstrated his capabilities by guiding the team to success during the offseason tournament hosted by Tixinha, Sacy, and BONXOS.

Though Desmo is only 25 years old (born April 19, 2000), the community has taken a growing interest in his rise, especially through searches like Valorant Desmo head coach leviathan age, signaling a rising curiosity around his journey and leadership.

The updated Leviatán team will next compete in VCT 2025: Americas Stage 2, which begins on July 18. The event will feature 12 partner teams from the Americas region competing for a spot in VALORANT Champions 2025 and a prize pool of $250,000.
