The German organization ALTERNATE aTTaX has announced the complete cessation of participation in professional Counter-Strike 2. The decision was published in X , and now the current team has been given permission to look for new opportunities. This is the result of a strategic review that the organization launched last year in October.
Reasons and consequences of the decision
ALTERNATE aTTaX announced its intention to focus on a new ambitious project, but after a thorough analysis, it concluded that Counter-Strike 2 does not currently provide the necessary economic and sporting conditions for long-term development. In January of this year, the organization already announced its withdrawal from the professional scene, combining it with plans for the future. Over the past months, the team has been working on implementing these plans, but had to admit that the game does not provide an adequate basis for a sustainable project.
This year, ALTERNATE aTTaX played only three matches, taking third place at DACH Masters Season 3. The team also took part in the 52nd and 53rd ESEA Main Europe seasons, but did not achieve significant success. Recent changes in the role included the replacement of the previous roster with most of the Reveal team, as well as the promotion of Florian “FoG” Gloddeck from the academy.
ALTERNATE aTTaX 's current roster includes:
Mark “Askan” Deterding
Marcel “Cl34v3rs” Klos
Florian “fog” Gloddek
Quang-Anh “hayanh” Nguyen
Leon “OneLion” Deutschert
The organization expressed its sincere gratitude to all the players, coaches, staff and fans who supported the team along the way. Despite the termination of the CS team, ALTERNATE aTTaX emphasizes that their passion for esports remains unwavering and they consider this decision a necessary step for future changes.
