Esports World Cup 2025 has become the third tier-1 tournament with the return of Overpass, yet the map still remains unpopular. Despite its high ban rate, it was played only 4 times, while the familiar Inferno and Dust2 once again confirmed their status as the main stages of the event.

At the Esports World Cup 2025, teams most frequently opted for Inferno — the map was played 10 times with 5 bans. Dust2 came in second in popularity, chosen 9 times with 4 bans.

Train and Overpass were played the least — only 4 times each. Both maps were banned as many as 10 times, indicating the teams' caution.

Side Balance
According to win statistics by side, the most defensive maps were Train and Ancient — with CTs winning 60% of the rounds against 40% for Ts. A slightly smaller bias towards defense was recorded on Nuke and Mirage — 55% for CTs.

On Inferno and Dust2, the advantage was on the side of the attack — with 54% and 55% wins for Ts, respectively. However, Overpass, which has just returned to the active pool, turned out to be the most balanced — 49% wins for CTs versus 51% for Ts, making it unique in the current map pool.

The Esports World Cup 2025 took place from August 20 to 24 in Riyadh, at the Boulevard Riyadh City arena. Sixteen top teams competed for a prize pool of $1,250,000.
