Astralis Stumble, Liquid and SAW Secure Key Wins at PGL Masters Bucharest 2025

On the third day of the PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 tournament, matches for teams with a 1-1 record in the Swiss system concluded. 

Astralis  were defeated by  Legacy SAW  overcame  GamerLegion , Liquid prevailed over  BetBoom Team , and  3DMAX  fell to FlyQuest. All winners took a step forward toward advancing to the next round, keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Astralis vs Legacy

The first map was Inferno, chosen by Legacy . The Brazilians started well in the first half, but Astralis quickly took the initiative in the second half, leading to overtime, where Legacy triumphed with a score of 16:14. On the second map, Nuke, chosen by Astralis , the Danish team couldn't put up a fight— Legacy closed the map 13:3, winning four rounds in a row in the second half and finishing the match 2:0 in maps.

The MVP of the match was Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer, who finished the series with 39 kills, 30 deaths, an ADR of 96, and a rating of 7.4. His consistent play allowed Legacy to control the pace of the game and secure an important victory.

SAW vs GamerLegion

On the first map, Nuke, chosen by SAW , GamerLegion displayed a smart attack in the second half and won 13:6. The match intrigue unfolded on Inferno—teams reached overtime, but SAW managed to turn the game around and win 19:17. On the decisive map Ancient, GamerLegion fought till the end, but SAW confidently closed the map 16:14, securing the series victory.

The MVP of the match was Antonio "aragornN" Barbosa, who finished the series with 69 kills, 62 deaths, an ADR of 95, and a rating of 7.0. His individual play allowed SAW to maintain the advantage and win in a tense battle.

Liquid vs BetBoom Team

On the first map Mirage, chosen by Liquid, the team dominated after an even start and won 13:5. BetBoom Team gathered themselves on their pick—Nuke, where they confidently closed the map 13:3, leveling the series. On the decisive Ancient, Liquid left no chance for the opponent, winning the first half 10:2 and leading the map to victory—13:2.

The MVP of the match was Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak, who finished the series with 41 kills, 31 deaths, an ADR of 91, and a rating of 7.0. His confident play allowed Liquid to control the match flow and win the decisive map.

3DMAX vs FlyQuest

FlyQuest started with a victory on their map Train—13:9, despite an even first half and a strong push after the side switch. On Inferno, 3DMAX turned the match around, winning 13:8 and leveling the score. The decisive Dust2 was under FlyQuest's control: the team confidently took important rounds, leading the map to victory—13:10.

The MVP of the match was Declan "Vexite" Portelli, who finished the series with 56 kills, 45 deaths, and an ADR of 91. His stable and aggressive play helped FlyQuest prevail in key moments of the match.

As a result of these matches, the losing teams BetBoom Team , Astralis , GamerLegion , and 3DMAX fall into the 1-2 pool, where they no longer have room for error, and the next loss will be their last. Meanwhile, the winners Legacy , SAW , Liquid, and FlyQuest moved closer to the playoffs, specifically pool 2-1.

PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 takes place from October 25 to November 1 in Romania with a prize pool of $1,250,000.
