Various players have appealed to Valve asking for an inquiry concerning the case with boosters in the American Dota 2 ladder.

There are reports that claim 15 out of top 20 players on the ranking are associated with MMR boosting.

The game developers were petitioned through Reddit and it generated a lot of discussions.

“About 15 from the top 20 players in North America have been win trading. It’s a joke and disrespect to MMR itself. These cheaters dominating the leaderboards which everyone could see is an insult to MMR as a system and those honestly climbing hoping to become professional players”

According to the appeal author this is an insult not only to their matchmaking rating system but also affects Dota2 pro scene at large, hurting dedicated gamers who dream of careers as eSports athletes.

“For instance, two players ranked 10 and 4 respectively openly engage in win trading during matches. One player intentionally picks lower ranks using ‘double down’ while another one deliberately picks higher ranks just to feed for his teammate. Then again they queue where both are captains swapping roles.

This requires no much effort into probing and I am sure some valve staff can ban all these accounts above that leaderboard after several days of hard work”

Players hope that Valve will look into it and initiate a banning wave targeting at least these cheaters who reached highest spots on ladder.
