Liquid's coach, Blitz, recently had an interview with the Elite League, where he discussed the team's late-game strategy and shared his thoughts on pre-game preparations.

[Regarding the team's late-game strategy]

In Dota 2, the most important strategy in the late-game is to never give up. Because anything can happen during this stage, you might lose a favorable situation due to a momentary lapse. To prevent this from happening, we usually try to end the game as soon as possible.

[Regarding pre-game preparations]

I think the most important thing is to step out of your comfort zone. For example, in our matches, we often blindly choose banning and picking, or we keep selecting based on Radiant or Dire side.

Sometimes, when others see our pre-game strategies, they try to counter it by choosing unfamiliar lineups or drafting strategies. So we decided to change our strategies, which allows us to go further.

If you have confidence in your team, it is worth taking some risks and choosing bold lineups or uncommon strategies. Otherwise, when would you ever choose them? You can't keep picking them in practice matches.
