Doran on T1 win over BLG: "I was not actually expecting a 3:0 here"

Time: 2025-07-06 02:00 (UTC)

T1 ’s top laner Choi " Doran " Hyeon-joon shared his thoughts after the team’s dominant 3:0 win over Bilibili Gaming at the Mid-Season Invitational 2025. He explained why he did not expect such a comfortable series, how his teammates turned around the crucial first game, and what fans can expect from the upcoming clash with Generation Gaming .

For Doran , this is his first major international event with T1 — and it was important for him to prove himself on the global stage. The clean sweep against BLG showed that the team is ready to fight for the title.

How the series played out
Right after the match, Doran admitted that he thought the battle would be much closer. He highlighted how seriously the team prepared, knowing how strong BLG could be:

Well, we actually scrimmed BLG, and they were really strong. So we wanted to make sure that we were extra prepared for the matchup. So I was not actually expecting a 3:0 here.

The first game turned out to be the turning point. Doran explained that things went wrong early, but his teammates stepped up at the right moment to shift the momentum:

I want to talk about the first game because there was a little accident early on, so the top lane didn’t really go based on the champion matchup, but my teammates just came in clutch and made super plays. They managed to turn the game around, and winning that game was so influential when it comes to winning the entire series.

The secret behind T1 ’s "magic"
Doran also shared what he believes makes T1 so strong internationally — constant hard work and the ability to adapt to new challenges:

I can say for sure that all of the players are working very hard in order to adapt to the new environment. I think that’s one of the keys to T1 magic internationally. And also, they’re all working really hard and always willing to get the win. So I think that made us get the 3:0 today.

The big test against Generation Gaming
Looking ahead, T1 will face Generation Gaming next — a matchup fans have been waiting to see in a best-of-five format. Doran pointed out that the top lane duel will be one to watch:

I watched Generation Gaming play yesterday and Kiin was on fire, so I think the top lane laning phase will be something to watch

For Doran , this is his first major international tournament with T1 . The win over BLG sets up a clash with their biggest domestic rival — Generation Gaming . This showdown promises to be one of the highlights of MSI 2025.

The Mid-Season Invitational 2025 will run from June 27 to July 12 in Canada, with a prize pool of $2,000,000. You can follow the news, schedule, and results of the tournament through the link.
