yay issues in Bleed eSports at VCT Pacific 2024

Time: 2024-08-25 22:00 (UTC)

The team's coach, LEGIJA , discussed the issues faced by player  yay  in an interview with journalist Thorin.

According to LEGIJA , problems between  yay  and player crazyguy began on the first day and, as he predicted, became a serious issue for the team. yay made every effort to resolve the conflicts, but  crazyguy  was not very cooperative.

Before the tournament started, the coach was confident in the team:  yay  had an average ACS of 290 over hundreds of scrim matches, and the team was winning in practice matches. However, LEGIJA noted that yay 's main issue was his mental state. The immense pressure had a negative impact on his gameplay, and he was losing confidence.

yay , who played a lot as Chamber, became inclined towards a more passive style of play. LEGIJA wanted to use him in an anchor role rather than a duelist. In scrims, yay performed excellently, especially playing as Viper and making the right decisions.

In the first match of the tournament against  T1 yay  reported visibility issues between the first and second maps, which affected his performance. According to him, "I can't see anything. The crosshair is gone." This led to a significant drop in his performance.

LEGIJA noted that  yay  experienced extraordinary pressure, which became his main enemy. After matches, yay often approached the coach to discuss and get advice on fixing issues and dealing with expectations and criticism. After the last match, the coach advised yay to take a break and rest to avoid worse consequences.

The coach also pointed out that overthinking was another issue for  yay . After losses, he would fall into depression, even though he was determined in practice. LEGIJA advised yay to stop watching other teams' matches for three weeks to avoid strategy violations and inconsistencies between practice and actual matches.
