Time: 2025-05-18 08:30 (UTC)

On May 18, the Chinese organization XLG Esports announced the temporary suspension of their player Ho “YoU” Yip Man from the team. This decision followed serious allegations against him from Chinese sources.

YoU became one of the key players for the team, which qualified for the VCT 2025: Masters Toronto and the Esports World Cup 2025 in Saudi Arabia. However, his participation in these tournaments was put into question after information surfaced regarding discriminatory remarks against China, as well as potential involvement in cheating and betting. Recordings allegedly supporting these accusations also appeared online.

The organization XLG did not confirm the validity of the allegations but responded promptly by launching an internal investigation and suspending YoU from all competitions. In addition to the ban from matches, the player was also temporarily deprived of his salary and team responsibilities.

In an official statement, XLG Esports emphasized their commitment to fair play principles and creating a healthy esports environment. The organization also expressed the importance of transparency and their intention to uphold their legal position amidst the spread of potential misinformation.
