The Chinese team XLG Esports recently became the champion of VCT 2025: China Stage 1, but immediately afterwards, the team had problems with one of its players. At first, Yip “YoU” Man-ho was suspended from the main roster, and today it became known that he was leaving the team.

What is known about the situation
As a reminder, after XLG won VCT 2025: China Stage 1, rumors about one of the core players began to spread online. As it became known, Yip “YoU” Man-ho was involved in betting on his own matches and was possibly caught cheating. In addition, YoU was accused of negative statements and discrimination against China. Official statement
Immediately afterwards, XLG representatives stated that the player would be placed in inactive status and an investigation would be launched, and today new information has emerged. Yip “YoU” Man-ho himself shared his own vision of the situation regarding cheats and suspensions on his Weibo account.

Hello everyone! I'm a player from Hong Kong, YOU, and I'm proud to be a Chinese player from the beginning to the end. I would like to clarify some of the information that is circulating on the Internet:

Regarding “participating in match-fixing”: according to Riot Games' official announcement, I was disqualified for 12 months for breaking the rules. The period of disqualification is from September 20, 2021 to September 19, 2022. This is true.

Regarding the “CS cheats and ban”: my account was indeed blocked by mistake during the CS competition, but it has already been unblocked - you can see a screenshot below. My personal Steam account still has a record of the ban, but it is not related to the CS game. The relevant records can also be viewed below.

Regarding the “anti-Chinese remarks” in the screenshots: this Steam account does not belong to me, and I did not write these messages. My Steam account is YMTATTTTT, many friends will confirm this, and it is also listed on my player page - here is the link. Please do not trust unverified information.

But despite the explanation, YoU believes that he has let the team and the fans down. He says that he is responsible for all of the points, and that's why he decided to leave XLG

I am legally responsible for all three of these points. I thank the club for their support - from qualifiers to today. I have let everyone down and I am very sorry. This situation has taken up too much time and public resources, and has been detrimental to XLG and the entire VCT CN region. Therefore, I have personally decided to resign from the XLG Esports club.

Once again, I apologize to all the fans of the club and everyone who was affected by this situation. I am very sorry! I accept all the criticism and am ready to make amends.

YOU results
Yip “YoU” Man-ho spent 7 months with XLG Esports between late 2024 and mid-2025. During this time, he took part in several tournaments, but was not successful in many of them. One of the few events was the last edition of VCT 2025: China Stage 1, where his team took 1st place and qualified for Masters Toronto 2025.
