"GCC tournament will be a guinea pig”- Game Changers Championship participants complain about the late release of patch 11.08

Time: 2025-10-14 09:00 (UTC)

The big patch 11.08, which will bring a lot of updates to the game and will be one of the biggest in Valorant, will be released in a few days.

However, many professional players from the Game Changers league believe that they will not have enough time to study the patch before the start of the main tournament of the year on the Valorant women's scene.

What we know about the situation

We would like to remind you that recently, information about the changes that will be in the upcoming patch 11.08 has been released online. Among them will be a large-scale rebalancing of agents, changes in weapons, a new map rotation, and much more.

The update is scheduled to be released on October 14-15, and this is the reason why players of the Game Changers scene are dissatisfied. The fact is that the following tournaments will start shortly after the patch release: VCT 2025 playoffs: Game Changers EMEA Stage 3 on October 17 and Game Changers Championship 2025 on November 20. Thus, players in the Game Changers league will have very little time to learn the new patch and get used to all the changes.

Shopify Rebellion Gold members were the first to notice this, and they will be playing at the Game Changers Championship 2025. Team coach Loic “effys” Sauvageau said that this is very unfair, considering the busy schedule and venue changes.

I'm sorry, but it's just terrible and unfair. There are 2 new maps in the rotation, the shooting in the game is changing, all the target agents are changing. And all this needs to be sorted out in 2 weeks. And you also need to take into account the flight to Korea and the fact that the teams will play the most important qualifiers before that. The other teams will have a whole month, and even that, in my opinion, is not enough.

Shopify Rebellion star and two-time world champion Melanie “meL” Capone also commented on the situation. She stated that Game Changers tournaments will be the guinea pigs for the new patch.

It's just crazy that the GCC tournament will be the guinea pig for such a radical patch. And it will be even harder for teams from the EMEA region. In my opinion, this is a very bad time to release a patch.

It should be noted that Game Changers EMEA Stage 3 will be the most difficult for participants, as the competition starts on October 17, and the 11.08 patch is released on October 14-15. This means that players will literally have 3 days to prepare and learn the entire objective, which is unrealistic.
