Quinn Announces Retirement from Dota 2

Time: 2025-09-18 05:00 (UTC)

Midlaner  Gaimin Gladiators  Quinn "Quinn" Callahan announced his retirement from professional Dota 2.

The player released a farewell video message, where he shared his journey in the discipline, the reasons for his decision, and thanked his team, fans, and loved ones for their support.

Background

Quinn spent nearly eight years on the professional scene. His main successes came with Gaimin Gladiators : the team dominated the 2023 season, winning numerous major tournaments, and Callahan himself, by his own account, considered himself the best midlaner in the world during that period.

What Quinn Said

In the video, Quinn explained that he made the decision to retire back in 2024. According to him, after achieving his main goals, the motivation to continue competing disappeared:

I dedicated almost my entire life to the game and was ready for daily 12-hour training sessions because I wanted to be the best and win. In 2023, I achieved that—and after that, it became harder to find the strength to continue. I no longer felt that the sacrifices were worth it.

He thanked his parents, coaches, former teammates, and the current Gaimin Gladiators roster for the journey and trust.

Callahan emphasized that he recorded the message before the start of TI 2025 and doesn't know how his last tournament will end. According to him, a possible victory would be the perfect finale, but regardless of the outcome, he leaves "with a sense of gratitude for this journey."
