Dota 2 Launches Crossover with Monster Hunter

Time: 2025-11-10 23:00 (UTC)

Valve has unveiled a major event in Dota 2, created in collaboration with Capcom.

The announcement was published on the game's official blog. The crossover with Monster Hunter is now available in-game and will last for three months. Players can look forward to six new sets, in-game hunting, a crafting system, unique pets, and special monsters.

Six Monster Hunter-Themed Sets

As part of the event, six sets based on classic Monster Hunter armor are available. Each set has three alternative versions that can be crafted using the new crafting system. The main versions are available to all players for free — to create them, players need to gather materials by participating in hero hunts.

Two new pets have been introduced in the game. The Palico courier receives interchangeable costumes, and the Poogie pig will wait for players at the base and also has its own outfits. Poogie will become a permanent companion and won't leave your base between games (provided, of course, it's toilet trained).

Hero Atlas — Progress Tracking and In-Game Lore

The Hero Atlas system helps track players' progress and tells the stories of heroes, compiled by the writer Goodkind — a companion of Axe. Players will be able to explore lore and gain additional insights into events from other regions of the Dota world.

Expedition Pack: Extended Version of the Event

For those who want more content, a paid Expedition Pack is available. It includes:

  • Monster skins: Rathalos for Dragon Knight and Bullfango for Beastmaster
  • A Monster Hunter-themed music pack
  • Seasonal graffiti
  • A starter set of materials
  • Exclusive versions of sets, Palico, and Poogie with custom visuals and Immortal effects

The crossover between Dota 2 and Monster Hunter is now available in-game and will be active for three months. Players will need to hunt, gather resources, and craft unique items. As Valve warns — beware of the monsters.
