FaZe brought broky back to the main roster

Time: 2025-07-09 15:00 (UTC)

Helvijs “broky” Saukants officially returned to FaZe's main roster after almost two months on the bench. The organization announced this on social media, ending its experiment with s1mple as a sniper.

Time on the bench
FaZe moved broky to the bench in early May after a series of poor results: the team failed to qualify for the playoffs at IEM Katowice, IEM Melbourne, and BLAST Open Lisbon. Although the Latvian was in good form last year, his form in 2025 has noticeably declined.

The organization decided to take a radical step and invited s1mple , a three-time player of the year, to the position of main AWP player ahead of IEM Dallas and BLAST.tv Austin Major.

s1mple : a brief return to Tier-1
The Ukrainian superstar played with FaZe in two tournaments: IEM Dallas was a failure, and at the Major in Austin, the team made it to the playoffs but lost to The MongolZ in the quarterfinals. s1mple looked stable but did not dominate, although at times he showed excellent play.

At the moment, s1mple 's future remains uncertain — neither FaZe nor NAVI have made any official statements regarding his status. All that is known is that his contract with NAVI runs until the end of 2025, and he is actively looking for the next step in his career.

The big comeback of broky
broky joined FaZe in September 2019 and has been a permanent part of the roster for five and a half years. During this time, he has won:

PGL Major Antwerp 2022
IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne in 2022
Intel Grand Slam Season 4
9 big S-Tier tournaments
3 MVP medals

The last year and a half has been difficult, but even in the Major final in Copenhagen, broky was one of the best players on FaZe. His return should add stability to the team in the AWP role.

What's next for FaZe?
FaZe's roster currently looks like this:

Finn “karrigan” Andersen
Håvard “rain” Nygaard
Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski
David “frozen” Čerňanský
Helvijs “broky” Saukants
Filip “NEO” Kubski (coach)

Ahead lies IEM Cologne 2025, ESL Pro League Season 22, and preparations for the fall cycle of major tournaments. FaZe is returning to the foundation that brought them success — now the main thing is not to lose momentum in the second half of the season.
