Swisher noted that after the latest update, the bomb explosion radius on the Dust II map has significantly increased. This change makes the usual positions for saving or holding points much more dangerous than before.

According to the player, when planting the bomb at point B in the standard position near the box, death is now guaranteed not only for those hiding behind the car but also for players in the corner of the tunnel at the exit. Even in deeper positions, there remains significant damage: 38 points in the depth of the tunnel and 26 from the deep CT position.

If planting for long on A, the situation becomes even more dangerous: at the long corner, a player takes nearly fatal 98 points of damage, at Cat Cubby — 64, by the mid doors — 44, and even at the exit from long, the explosion takes away 32 health. In the pit itself, which was previously considered a safe spot, damage can now be taken — up to 7 points.

The most telling example is planting the bomb "for pit": the explosion kills everyone standing at the long corner, and damage in other cover spots reaches 40 points or more.

Dust II remains one of the most popular maps not only in matchmaking but also on the professional scene. If the changes in the bomb explosion radius are indeed part of the update and not a bug, this could affect the outcomes of matches in major tournaments. Teams will be forced to reconsider usual positions for saving and retakes, potentially leading to new meta-strategies on the legendary map.
