Rumors: Riot Teases New Darkin

Time: 2025-06-26 15:50 (UTC)

Yunara hasn't even appeared in the game yet, and insiders are already discussing the next champion in the League of Legends universe. According to reliable source Big Bad Bear, Riot Games is preparing a new Darkin — a mysterious wielder of the Darkin Glaive, fragments of which have recently appeared in official materials.

Darkin with a Glaive
According to the insider, the new champion will feature light gray skin, massive golden ornaments, and a distinctive floating cloak attached to the shoulders. The main visual emphasis is the Darkin Glaive, an impressive weapon that has been discussed in previous Riot comics.

Artist @ViktorKeos has recreated the possible appearance of the champion based on this information. The image depicts a mighty warrior with a mask and horns reminiscent of other Darkins, such as Aatrox or Rhaast.

Release could happen as early as August
The champion is expected to appear on the PBE test server at the beginning of the third season — tentatively on August 12, 2025. However, as always with leaks, the final details may change closer to the release: appearance, abilities, and even the champion's role.

What's next?
Considering the close lore connection between Yunara and the Darkins, as well as the unique presentation in the comics, we can expect not just a new champion but a major event or gameplay mode related to the ancient forces of Runeterra.
