New Patch 25.13 in League of Legends

Time: 2025-06-24 18:39 (UTC)

In League of Legends, patch 25.13 has been released, introducing Act 2 of the "Soul Fighter" event, bringing back the "Arena" mode, and completely reimagining ARAM. Additionally, Riot Games has updated the battle pass system and revamped the shrine mechanics.

The Return of Arena and Three ARAM Maps
One of the main highlights is the return of the "Arena" mode, which will now be available to players throughout the entire year. Riot announced that the mode received excellent feedback from the community, and now players can enjoy it on a permanent basis—with possible updates in future patches.

Two new maps have also been added to ARAM—"Kesin's Crossing" and "Butcher's Bridge." Matches will now randomly take place on one of these three maps, including the classic "Howling Abyss." Additionally, developers have introduced a champion card system: before a match, players will choose a hero from two or three random options, rather than making a re-roll.

New Battle Pass Stage
Changes have also been made to the battle pass progression system. Now, mastery experience tasks are no longer tied to champion sets—players can earn 2,500 experience points by completing tasks with any heroes. The logic of weekly missions has also been revised—they now last for 21 days, allowing players not to lose progress during breaks.

Shrine and Mythic Shop Update
In patch 25.13, Riot has enhanced the value of the shrine and revamped the rewards. Now, when a random icon or emote drops, players additionally receive 2 units of Mythic Essence. This makes even less valuable rewards useful and increases the overall essence gained from progression. Furthermore, the double payout in S rank for the mythic variant has been increased from 100 to 130 units of Mythic Essence—bringing its value closer to the exalted variant rewards.

The shrine will also feature a new exalted skin—"Soul Fighter Morgana," and in the mythic shop, players can purchase the "Soul Bloom" nexus finisher effect for 250 ME and Morgana's animated emote "In My Hands" for 25 ME. Meanwhile, the Sahne-Azal Mordekaiser, his emote, and the "Equalizer" finisher will be removed from rotation.

Champion Changes
In this update, Riot has made targeted balance changes. Rammus has been strengthened after previous nerfs left him ineffective. Kindred received improvements for greater utility in early-stage team fights, while Vi, Twisted Fate, and Nidalee received minor adjustments following recent changes.

New Skins and Event Content
Starting June 25 at 8:00 PM Central European Time, new skins from the "Soul Fighter" series will be available in League of Legends: Akali, Hwei, Karma, Kayle, Nidalee, Morgana, and a prestige version of Zed. All skins are themed around blossoming harmony and will complement the atmosphere of the second act of the "Soul Fighter" event.

Technical and System Changes
Patch 25.13 removes the ability to launch the client in Windows compatibility mode. If enabled, the game will not start until the mode is disabled. Additionally, the reporting system has been revamped—categories "Rating Manipulation" and "Griefing" have been added, and notifications about their review now arrive faster—within 3 days instead of 14. Players also won't receive AFK penalties if the team wins the match after their return.

Patch 25.13 has become one of the most content-rich this year: the return of Arena, extensive cosmetic updates, new maps, and significant progress changes. Riot is clearly aiming to make the summer season as engaging as possible for players of all modes.
