Driver and HongQ on their victory over Movistar KOI , Twisted Fate gameplay, and inspiration from Baus

Time: 2025-07-05 23:00 (UTC)

CTBC Flying Oyster ’s Shen "Driver" Tsung-Hua and Tsai "HongQ" Ming-Hong shared their thoughts following their victory against Movistar KOI at the Mid-Season Invitational 2025. In the post-match interview after advancing to the next round, they discussed how they prepared for unique opponents, evaluated controversial champion picks, and revealed who inspired their unexpected decisions in the top and mid lanes.

CTBC Flying Oyster are competing at MSI 2025 as one of the most standout teams from the LCP region, regularly surprising with risky picks and aggressive playstyle. The match against Movistar KOI was an opportunity for the team to secure a spot in the winners’ bracket and prove their readiness to face Europe’s top lineups.

How CFO prepared for their opponent and thoughts on meta picks
The biggest challenge for Driver in the match against Movistar KOI was the unusual champion pool of the top laner Myrwn . He emphasized that he was prepared for this and that versatility in the draft played a key role:

The biggest difference between me and Myrwn today is that his champion pool is very unique. However, it only has one-dimensional gameplay. Meanwhile, for me, I feel like my champion pool is incredibly versatile and they can bet I can just pick something.

Following that, HongQ commented on the unsuccessful attempts by other teams to make Twisted Fate work at the tournament. He noted that the pick is still strong if drafted correctly and fits the team composition:

I don't think TF is a bait pick. It really depends on the ban-pick phase and if the composition requires a TF. And I also think the ID does play into this.

Baus and the philosophy of "Some deaths are good deaths"
Driver also shared that he drew inspiration for his Sion playstyle from the well-known solo laner Baus and his daring approach. According to him, well-timed deaths can become a key tactical element:

I think Baus definitely gave me some inspiration going into today's series because some deaths are good deaths, and in a competitive series I feel like that is also very necessary and could be used to our advantage.

At the end, HongQ assessed his own performance at MSI and promised fans he will put in twice the effort in upcoming matches:

I actually don't think my performance in the LCP was the best. However, coming into MSI, the opponents are much more competitive and I'm going to try twice as hard to perform for you guys.

CTBC Flying Oyster continue their MSI 2025 run after an important victory over Movistar KOI . For the team, this is a chance to make a name on the global stage and solidify their success against some of the strongest opponents. Previously, CFO impressed with unconventional drafts and aggressive gameplay in their regional league.

The Mid-Season Invitational 2025 will run from June 27 to July 12 in Canada, with a prize pool of $2,000,000. You can follow the news, schedule, and results of the tournament through the link.
