Generation Gaming mid laner Jeong " Chovy " Ji-hoon shared his thoughts after winning the Mid-Season Invitational 2025, where his team claimed the title and he was named Finals MVP . Speaking after the match, Chovy admitted he had felt immense pressure coming into the tournament but managed to turn that pressure into pure enjoyment. He also expressed gratitude to his teammates and staff and outlined his next big goal — winning Worlds.
This was Chovy ’s second consecutive MSI title with Generation Gaming . While he had long been seen as a mechanically gifted player, he had previously faced criticism for his performances on the biggest stages. With another trophy in hand and the Finals MVP award, Chovy has cemented his place as not just a skilled laner, but a reliable force under pressure.
In the MSI 2025 Grand Final, Generation Gaming faced their fiercest rivals, T1 . After a back-and-forth five-game series, Generation Gaming emerged victorious, and Chovy was recognized as the most impactful player in the decider. In the post-match interview, he explained how he overcame internal pressure and why this title felt like a collective achievement.
Chovy admitted that the pressure of going for back-to-back titles was real — but something clicked during the series:
Challenging to win another title — going for the back-to-back title is a pressure. But today I realized the performance of both sides was so on point. It was going back and forth, and I was enjoying the process. I was just having so much fun, and in that moment, the pressure went away.
That shift in mindset allowed him to focus purely on gameplay, which ultimately led to his MVP honors:
I just wanted to perform well — and I think I was able to prove that. Winning this Finals MVP makes me very glad.
Still, Chovy emphasized that the victory was a product of the entire team’s effort:
It’s not just about me. Everyone worked so hard — teammates, the coaching staff, even everyone working on the Generation Gaming side supported us so well. We were able to accomplish this together.
He also spoke about what motivates him to keep pushing forward:
As a professional player, you always want to achieve more. You shouldn’t settle. You should always aim forward and push yourself to get there.
Chovy made it clear what his next goal is:
I have a few tournaments ahead — EWC, the regular season — but first and foremost, winning Worlds.
Finally, he sent a heartfelt message to the fans:
Thank you so much for trusting me. I want to say I was able to repay your belief and your trust by winning the series today. I’ll keep doing my best so that you continue believing in me. Thank you so much.
This marks Chovy ’s second straight MSI title — he also lifted the trophy with Generation Gaming in 2024. Once known for struggling on the big stage, Chovy ’s recent success stands as proof of his growth, maturity, and ability to deliver when it matters most.
