Oner on reaching the MSI 2025 Final: "We have faith in ourselves — we knew we could bounce back"

Time: 2025-07-12 04:34 (UTC)

T1 jungler Mun " Oner " Hyeon-joon shared his thoughts after defeating Anyone’s Legend 3:2 in the MSI 2025 lower bracket final. In a post-match interview, he explained why the fifth and final game looked so one-sided in favor of his team, praised Gumayusi ’s contribution to objective control, and expressed confidence ahead of the rematch against Generation Gaming in the grand final.

Despite a shaky start to the Spring Split, T1 has once again hit top form, fighting their way through the lower bracket. This comeback is especially impressive given the circumstances — just a few weeks ago, many doubted whether T1 would even qualify for MSI. That’s what makes this series more than just another victory.

T1 back in the final — and facing Generation Gaming again
The team took down Anyone’s Legend in five games, showing overwhelming dominance in the decider. According to Oner , the shift in momentum came down to mental fortitude:

Once you start making a minor mistake, it's critical — it affects your concentration. I think the one who starts making mistakes just keeps going, and it has a very big impact overall.

He also credited Gumayusi ’s map awareness and global pressure for helping secure key objectives:

He's really good at global ultimates, so when I'm in a position where I can't commit for steals, he's always there with global ults to take the objective. Very reliable, for sure.

Oner emphasized the team’s experience as a factor in staying composed and turning things around:

We have so much international event experience and we've made it to finals so many times. We knew we could bounce back — we picked ourselves up and pushed all the way.

T1 previously lost to Generation Gaming 2:3 in the upper bracket final. This time, Oner believes preparation will make the difference:

In the previous series, there were a lot of moments where we should have won but we couldn't. If we can follow our plans and make things go as we prepared, I think we are strong enough to beat them.

He ended the interview with a message to the fans in Vancouver:

Thanks to your loud energy and support, we were able to fight through this five-game battle and get the win today. If I can get another loud one tomorrow against Generation Gaming , I think we’ll get the power to defeat them. Thank you so much — I love you all.

T1 advanced to the MSI 2025 grand final after a tense 3–2 victory over Anyone’s Legend. This will be their first MSI final since 2022, and a rematch against Generation Gaming — who beat them 3:2 in the upper bracket final.

The Mid-Season Invitational 2025 will take place from June 27 to July 12 in Canada, with a prize pool of $2,000,000. You can follow the news, schedule, and results of the tournament through the link.
