T1 , Top Esports , and 100 Thieves Start Strong at Worlds 2025 Swiss Stage

On the first day of the Swiss Stage at Worlds 2025, taking place in China , teams played the opening matches of the Swiss round.

Victories were claimed by  T1 Top Esports 100 Thieves KT Rolster CTBC Flying Oyster , Anyone’s Legend, Gen.G Esports, and Team Secret Whales. The pairings for the second round will be determined later.

Team Secret Whales 1:0 Vivo Keyd Stars

Southeast Asia kicked off the tournament with a victory — 22:8. Dire emerged as the true leader — 6/0/12, 28.1K damage, 17.6K gold. The Brazilians from Keyd Stars couldn't put up a fight. 

CTBC Flying Oyster 1:0 Fnatic

The Taiwanese team proved they are a force to be reckoned with: 18:5 against  Fnatic . Doggo was flawless — 7/0/7, 24.6K damage, 15.4K gold. Fnatic looked uncertain and made too many mistakes in the lane. 

KT Rolster 1:0 Movistar KOI

The Koreans confidently started the tournament — 12:7 in 33 minutes.  deokdam  scored 6/0/4, 29.4K damage, and 16.9K gold, becoming the MVP of the match. KT displayed cohesive play and reliable macro work. 

100 Thieves 1:0 Bilibili Gaming

The sensation of the game day: 100 Thieves destroyed Bilibili — 22:6. MVP —  Quid , with a score of 9/0/9, 26.4K damage, and 15K gold. The North American team proved they can compete with the giants from the LPL

T1 1:0 FlyQuest

The finalists of Worlds 2023 left no chance for the American team — 29:12 in 34 minutes.  faker  was in excellent form — 6.9/1.4/13.1, 38.7K damage, 14.2K gold.  Gumayusi  and  Oner  also played flawlessly. 

Anyone’s Legend 1:0 Hanwha Life Esports

One of the day's biggest surprises: Anyone’s Legend outplayed the favorite HLE — 29:14 in 41 minutes.  Shanks  was the main hero of the match — 7.8/1.3/12.3, 29.1K damage. The Chinese team demonstrated disciplined play and confidently closed the map. 

Top Esports 1:0 G2 Esports

TES crushed G2 with a score of 22:7. The match MVP was  Kanavi , showcasing an incredible 9/1/8, 22K damage, and 15.3K gold. G2 looked bewildered against the strong pressure from the Chinese side. 

Gen.G Esports 1:0 PSG Talon

The Korean team easily handled their opponent — 17:8 in just under 29 minutes. Gen.G looked incredibly confident in terms of pace and map control. 

The World Championship 2025 runs from October 14 to November 9 in China . Teams from around the globe are competing for a prize pool of $5 million.
