G2 BrokenBlade: "I've Never Regretted Becoming a Pro Player"

Time: 2025-10-31 01:00 (UTC)

G2 Esports  concluded their run at the Worlds 2025, falling to  Top Esports  with a score of 1:3 in the quarterfinals.

The European team was the only Western representative to reach this stage but couldn't display the usual confidence and aggression that G2's style is known for.

In an interview with Sheep Esports, the team's top laner, Sergen "BrokenBlade" Çelik, discussed the reasons for their defeat, the team's growth over the season, and the sacrifices made for an esports career.

We gave it our all. I'm proud of the guys—we played with no regrets. Yes, today was tough, but we showed everything we were capable of. I think this is our best result, and I don't regret anything.

The player noted that the team found themselves in winning positions several times but failed to capitalize on their advantage:

We respected our opponent too much and allowed them to do what they wanted. In the crucial moment on Atakan, we rushed, even though we could have won if we played more conservatively. Mistakes were made, but I still consider this Worlds a successful experience.

According to BrokenBlade, the defeat was due to wrong decisions rather than a lack of confidence:

We've grown as a team and become more confident. We just made the wrong decisions today, and Top Esports took advantage of that. At Worlds, mistakes always come at a high cost.

Speaking about personal sacrifices for esports, BrokenBlade emphasized how fully he dedicates himself to the game:

I've sacrificed everything—time with family, friends, my girlfriend. My whole life is League of Legends. I don't regret a single day of becoming a professional player. Everything great has a price, but if you truly love what you do, it's worth it.

In conclusion, BrokenBlade thanked the fans for their support:

Thank you to everyone who believed in us. Yes, it wasn't enough, but this Worlds was special for me. We'll try to come back even stronger next year.
