The team secured a spot after PSG Talon 's departure

The Australian club has been on the scene for three years and previously competed in the LCO before transitioning to the PCS ecosystem. In the new season, Ground Zero Gaming will continue to play as a PCS-region team. The organization has promised to share additional information about the roster and upcoming matches in the coming days.

Riot Games clarified that Ground Zero Gaming will be considered an LCP participant and must comply with regulations, including the number of players from the PCS region: "GZ will represent PCS as their home region and must adhere to the league's roster policy."

A new chance for the Australian team

In November, it was announced that PSG Talon would not be able to continue participating in the league. Despite competing at Worlds 2025 and having a long history at the top of PCS, the organization faced financial difficulties. Ground Zero Gaming was chosen to take their place in LCP, although the club finished the last four splits in last place — including seventh in Summer 2024 and all three splits in 2025.

In 2024, the team won the LCO twice, but they couldn't establish themselves within PCS, achieving only four wins in the bo3 format throughout the season. After a disastrous first split, their league participation was at risk, but the club retained their spot through the Ascension tournament. In 2026, Ground Zero is set to replace PSG Talon and attempt to replicate their achievements in the league.
