G2 Esports has announced that Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač will not be able to play in the opening matches of PGL Astana 2025 due to visa issues. Instead, the 38-year-old Polish coach Wiktor “ TaZ ” Wojtas will replace the player at least in the first games.
This event attracts attention, as fans were hoping to see G2 in a new lineup with Olek “hades” Miskiewicz after Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov joined the Falcons. Due to visa difficulties, huNter- will join the team later, and the timing of the problem is not specified.
The history of substitutions: TaZ helps out again
This is not the first time TaZ has saved G2 in a similar situation. In 2024, at the BLAST Premier Spring Final, he replaced m0NESY, who also faced visa restrictions. For G2, the tournament in Astana will be the first after a pause: the team did not participate in IEM Melbourne and BLAST Rivals, having last played at PGL Bucharest a month ago.
Polish trio in G2
With TaZ , G2 gains a Polish majority: the coach will be joined by hades and Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski. The team will play its first match against MIBR , where TaZ will definitely play. How long his participation will last depends on the resolution of huNter-'s visa issues.
TaZ 's participation adds intrigue to the start of G2 at PGL Astana 2025. Will the veteran be able to help the team in the early stages? We will find out soon.
