Insania admitted that Team Liquid players engage in smurfing and justified their actions

Time: 2025-03-25 06:02 (UTC)

Aydin “Insania” Sarkohi, who acts as a support for Team Liquid , revealed that Michał “Nisha” Jankowski and Michael “miCKe” Vu continue to play with active smurf accounts. He claims that their accounts are not hidden, which makes their behavior somewhat excusable.

The conversation was disclosed by the esports player on a podcast featured on Cap's YouTube channel.

"In my opinion, I think smurfing is bad. For example, I stopped playing on other accounts since Valve banned it. My teammates smurfing can be explained to some degree. Nisha has 5,000 MMR on his main account because he simply hasn’t played. When the ban came into play, he did start playing his main a little bit, but all he was doing was solo MMR grinding. So he moved to an alt account that he had, which, to my knowledge, had a higher MMR than what he was playing at. He has been on this account for quite some time and it is well-known that it is his highest rated account. So yeah, it’s public knowledge that he has this account, and in my opinion, it’s okay for him to use it. As far as I know, he does not have a hidden smurf he plays on”

“Insania confirmed recently that Nisha plays official matches on low MMR because he had been rating grinding on another account. He said there was a similar situation with miCKe, too.”

“Mitke is another person who I believe has a similar situation. as far as I know he is in a “gray area” since I know that he has been using both his main account and a smurfing account. Both of which are rated high, something like 13,000 and 14,000 MMR. I don't know whether he has another account and during the last two months, I haven’t seen him play Dota”

The esports player claimed he regards smurfing as rule-breaking, but with respect to his teammates, it is quite understandable.

Earlier there was something astonishingly new about Nisha, which made him different.
