KRU Esports will play at the EWC 2025 qualifiers with substitutes as two players are busy with other things

Time: 2025-05-16 07:00 (UTC)

The American qualifiers for EWC 2025 will start soon, and the teams are actively preparing for the upcoming matches. However, as it became known, one of the KRU Esports members will play with two substitutes because the core players have other plans and commitments.

What is known about the situation
The matches at the Esports World Cup 2025: Americas Qualifier starts tomorrow, May 17, but the day before the start, KRU representatives provided some interesting information. A message appeared on the team's official social media, in which the representatives showed an updated roster and stated that two of the players would not participate in the event for some reason.

Despite the fact that we had only 7 days before the qualifying dates, we didn't want to miss the opportunity to play! 2 of the guys from the core had their own things to do and commitments, so due to time constraints we had to choose two NA substitutes to participate. See you on Friday! Go KRÜ!

The new temporary players in the KRU roster are: 22-year-old American QoR captain Michael "nerve" Yerrow and content maker and streamer traded.

Benjamín "adverso" Poblete

Upcoming KRU matches
As mentioned above, the matches at the American qualifiers start on May 17, but KRU has already won the first match. Since the team did not have a pair, due to an odd number, they were credited with an auto-win, and now KRU will compete in the second round with the winner of the Cloud9 /2GAME Esports pair.

Esports World Cup 2025: Americas Qualifier takes place from May 16 to 25 in an online format. 9 invited teams from the Americas region will compete for 2 invitations to Esports World Cup 2025.
