According to Valve, input lag was introduced with patch 7.38 in Dota 2, but they managed to remove it on February 21. Still, some players have had their experiences aggravated with these lags, and one of If the company is to be believed, there are instructions on what to do.

Jeff Hill posted a quick tutorial on Reddit concerning how to adjust mouse settings during competitive games to make them more manageable.

“Type the command +dota_debug_change_cursor_during_pending_order_1. Whenever you click, the cursor will remain illuminated until the server completes processing the command and the client is updated.

With it, you will not be able to eliminate lag, but you will receive the power of tracking it to it’s fullest potential with each click as unit movement is also position dependent based on their turning time and game mechanics. This parameter does change the way the network behaves so there will not be any zmmtzurthargs that hope mess others networks. What it will do is reduced the delay on each individual click”

With the use of this command, Dota 2 developers say the issue will not be eliminated, but it will help minimize response time. It's amazing how some players instantly thanked him for such simple advice and others enjoyed that Jeff Hill is still actively involved in development of the game.

Previously, players had a joint effort requires collectively reporting to Valve about the number of problems appeared with patch 7.38.
