Estral Esports Player Suspended After Rule Violation Allegations During LTA North Promotion

Time: 2025-10-07 15:30 (UTC)

Top laner  Estral Esports  Pak "Summit" Woo-tae has been temporarily suspended from participating in matches after being accused of a potential rule violation at the LTA North Promotion tournament.

According to the organizers, the player was caught watching game replays during a more than two-hour pause caused by a DDoS attack. The match against  Disguised , which was halted with a score of 2:1 in favor of the latter, will resume on October 7 at 10:00 PM CEST.

League representatives clarified that Summit's suspension is preliminary and will remain in effect until a full investigation is completed. According to the Esports Global Code of Conduct 2025 Edition, cheating includes "the use of any in-game or external methods, technologies, or techniques that affect the outcome of a match or provide an unfair advantage."

Organizers emphasized that Estral Esports will be allowed to field a substitute during the investigation. The league's statement expressed a commitment to the principles of fair play and maintaining the competitive integrity of the tournament.

Reaction from Estral Esports

In a response statement, the club explained that the situation arose due to a two-hour pause during which the team did not receive clear instructions from the organizers. Representatives of Estral acknowledged the player's mistake but stressed the absence of any intention to break the rules. The team described the incident as "a result of unclear circumstances" and appealed for "a more humane approach" in the case review. While the investigation continues, Estral will play with a substitute.

Estral Esports previously ended its partnership with  Isurus  and returned to participating in LRN — the Central American league that provides slots for LCS Promotion. In the tournament, the team has already defeated Conviction, an NACL finalist, and advanced to a series against Disguised for a spot in the upper bracket, where the winner will face  Luminosity Gaming .
