In June 2025, the closed qualifiers for the Esports World Cup 2025 in Dota 2 began. Teams from six regions are competing for spots in the main summer tournament, which will take place from July 7 to July 19 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia . Each region has only one slot allocated for the championship.
Western Europe
NAVI Junior emerged victorious in the qualifiers, first defeating MOUZ with a score of 2:0 in the lower bracket finals, and then beating AVULUS 3:1 in the grand final. The team confidently navigated through the losers' bracket, leaving no chances for their opponents in the decisive matches.
North America
Wildcard easily defeated Yoru Ryodan with a score of 2:0 and advanced to the final of the qualifying stage. However, in the decisive match, they lost to Shopify Rebellion 0:3. With this confident victory, Shopify Rebellion secured their spot in the Esports World Cup.
Middle East, South Asia, and Africa
The qualifying stage starts on June 8. In the first round of the upper bracket, Nigma Galaxy will face sifr00 , and Virtus.Pro will go up against Team Secret . The winners will continue to compete for the sole spot in Riyadh.
Southeast Asia
Matches will take place from June 8 to June 10. Among the first-round pairs are BOOM Esports against Kukuys , Yangon Galacticos will meet Tech Free Gaming , Castawake will play against Execration , and Ivory will face InterActive Philippines .
Eastern Europe
Runa Team confidently defeated 4Pirates with a score of 2:1, then easily overcame One Move . L1ga Team couldn't recover from their first-round loss and immediately lost again. In the upper bracket final, Natus Vincere fell to Cyber Goose and will try again today to secure a spot in the main tournament.
South America
Team Sin Compromiso continued their winning streak, leaving no chances for either Estar Backs or Veritas Brothers . In the first match of the day, they dominated EB, finishing the series with a score of 2:0. Then Team Sin Compromiso will face OG.LATAM in the lower bracket final. In the upper bracket, Heroic confidently defeated OG.LATAM with a score of 2:0, confirming their status as favorites and being the first to advance to the grand final.
