However, recently Riot Games announced that Tongs Shen has been temporarily banned from participating in any Riot Games authorized competitions due to his inappropriate comments related to minors on social media.

Tongs Shen was criticized by Chinese Taiwanese netizens for commenting that artist Huang Zijiao had inappropriate images of minors, saying that it was not that serious. He later made serious and violent comments about minors, which directly triggered a backlash from Taiwanese netizens and was boycotted by all netizens; all brand endorsements related to him were also terminated.

The ban will last until June 24, 2024, or the first three matches of HELL PIGS in the 2024 PCS Summer Tournament, whichever comes first.

It is also mentioned that Riot Games learned about Tongs Shen's violation of the regulations on April 8, 2024, but at that time Tongs Shen had not yet registered to participate in any Riot Games e-sports team competitions. It was not until May 10th that he registered as a player for HELL PIGS to participate in the 2024 PCS Summer Tournament. Therefore, on May 15, 2024, Riot Games initiated a disciplinary procedure for potential violations of the global code of conduct and gave Tongs Shen the opportunity to submit a statement.

After discussions with Riot Games, although Tongs Shen's comments were made before registering as a player, they still decided to initiate a disciplinary procedure against Tongs Shen in accordance with Article 2.3 of the "global code of conduct", believing that his behavior was inappropriate and serious, contributing to a harmful environment. Riot Games also mentioned that even though Tongs Shen's background seemed to indicate that he did not deliberately cause harm and lacked awareness of the potential impact of his comments, it did not exempt him from the responsibility for inappropriate comments.
